About the event
Joy Bowles, Water Quality Monitoring (WQM) Program Lead and other WQM Team members will discuss Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition’s water quality monitoring program with specifics from the 2025 sampling, including discussing any changes throughout the summer. Also discussed will be the results of Belfast’s 2025 pilot of the Maine Healthy Beaches Program, which samples water at three local beaches for bacteria and the current status of that program. Additionally, John Krueger will discuss the collaborative project to monitor microplastics in our Bay and the rivers that lead into it. This program is co-sponsored by the Belfast Free Library and the Waldo County Climate Action Coalition (WCCAC).
