About the event
Joy Bowles, Water Quality Monitoring Program Lead will discuss Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition’s water quality monitoring program with specifics from the 2025 sampling, including discussing any changes throughout the summer. She will present the results of the Maine Healthy Beaches Program, which samples water at our local beaches for bacteria. The collaborative project to monitor microplastics in our Bay and the rivers that lead into it will also be discussed. This program is co-sponsored by the Belfast Free Library and the Waldo County Climate Action Coalition. Programs will be held in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library with a ZOOM option.
