Every year we celebrate Maine's amazing migration as well as our resident birds. Here's the 2026 schedule for Cathy Morgan Bird Week. You can also find them on our events page.
Saturday, May 9, 7 am. International Migratory Bird Day. Meet at the Sears Island gate at Led by Dave Somers and Todd Miller. ADA accessible.
​Sunday, May 10, between 7-10 am. The Mother’s Day Walk. Seth Benz leads the walk at BBWC board member Cloe Chunn and David Thanhauser’s farm, 210 Oak Hill Road in Swanville.

Monday, May 11, 7 am. Walk. Gibson Preserve, Searsmont, with Erik Klausmayer. Parking lot on Woodmans Mills Road (Rt. 173) in Searsmont.

Tuesday, May 12, 7 am. Back to Sears Island, this time with Erik Klausmayer. ADA accessible.

Tuesday, May 12, 6:30 p.m. Welcoming our Returning Migrant Birds: Who they are, where they came from. An evening with Nick Lund of Maine Audubon. Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library.
Wednesday, May 13, 7 am. Walk at Head of Tide. Meet up with Todd Miller at Head of Tide Preserve, 85 Doak Road, Belfast.

Thursday, May 14, 7 am. Walk at the Ducktrap. Walk with Kristen Lindquist and Gary Gulezian Ducktrap River Preserve, Rt. 52, Lincolnville.

Friday, May 15, 7 am. The Belfast Rail Trail. Cedar Patrick, Finn Demers, and Cloe Chunn lead. Meet at the Center Parking Lot one mile past the Rt. 1 overpass. ADA accessible.
