About the event
On Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10:00-12:00, we will walk up to the Oak Hill Granite Quarry and explore with geologist Chris Mattson.
Chris will give us a brief history of the not-so- brief history of plate tectonics, granite formation, and composition, as we walk in and around the quarry. Situated at the top of Quarry Hill, the venue offers great views of the bay and a chance to see some birds on high. Meet at 10:00 at the quarry gate at 592 Oak Hill Road, Swanville. Bring water, binoculars if you like, and wear rugged shoes.
